Rhiannon is a one-of-a-kind assemblage exploring the eternal bond between mother and child. Inspired by a vision of a sacred garden where unborn souls are lovingly protected, the artwork reflects themes of hope, reunion, and unconditional love.
The piece originated as a glass artwork created through sandblasting, engraving, and airbrushing, with the artist’s signature liquid graphite technique. Thousands of engraved lines create extraordinary depth and movement, while the natural luminosity and texture of the sand frosted glass produced its distinctive bronze-like glow.
The assemblage, shown here, actually builds on that original vision by incorporating an additional panel of hand carved glass, designed to add depth and bring attention to many of the magical aquatic elements within the original design.
A sleeping infant rests within the composition, symbolizing innocence, protection, and the promise of reunion. Surrounded by flowing botanical forms and celestial imagery, Rhiannon invites contemplation of life’s unseen connections and the enduring nature of love.
